Space saving mitre saw station

Don't you find that when you get a new tool, you have to move everything around to fit it in your working space. Well when I finally got the stand for my lathe, I had to then make space for it in my room. So this left me with a problem where to put the stuff i just moved, for a few months now I had been moving my mitre saw around and even having to place it on the floor. As well as moving the band saw and my sander from one place to another............................

Tool storage cupboard

I Made this tool storage cupboard by recycling 2 sides from a transport box I was given. I worked out i really needed to start keeping all my power tools in one place, as they were getting everywhere and I am short of space on my work benches anyway. I designed the cupboard to have the partitions to fit the power tool which means the can only go back in to there own spot..............

The tool holder kebab station

This is my entry to the Summer's Woodworking Third annual creative 2 x 4 competition.
After thinking about what to make for my entry I came up with this design, I had just taken apart a couple of old hard drives and was able to take out the motors from inside, they were small but they moved very smooth, so I thought they would make great lazy susans although very small ones.............

A Lap table with a twist

Have you ever been sat on your sofa with your laptop on your lap and one part of your leg getting hot, not only that your computer is getting over heated because of it. So with that in mind I took inspiration from one of my favorite woodworkers Steve Carmichael (http://www.thecarmichaelworkshop.com/), he made a laptop stand over a year ago....

OAK LOG BANDSAW BOX - CHALLENGE TREE 2016

This is my entry to the challenge tree 2016, which is held by Dominic Bender from  http://www.dominicswoodworks.com/
Dominic had many entries last year and this year it hopes to be better, a lot of sponsors have put prizes in.
Last year I made a scoop, this year I decided to make my first bandsaw box. Which was a big learning experience as it was the first thing I had made using my bandsaw, so I had to deal with the blade coming off a few times as the log was still wet because I had only had it for a week. I found that the parts..............

Building a Planter

This Project is a planter which is 1500mm x 500mm x 400mm, I used pressure treated timber for the frame and recycled a travel box which had machine parts in it.
I Left the boards in the frame loose so that they are able to move with seasons. The planter looked really nice and the boards in the bottom are rough sawn as they will have soil all over them.

Beware of the dogs sign

A Friend asked me if I would be able to do a sign for them, I said I would give it a go. I simply printed out the design and stuck it to a piece of oak. I then proceeded to hand router the sign, using the print out as a template. The sign worked out better then i could ever imagine, and it was without the use of a 3d cnc machine. No im thinking I can save money and just use a hand router instead.
